National Conference for College Women Student Leaders Scholarship

We are very excited to announce that WVU AAUW will be sponsoring our first group of WVU students to attend AAUW's National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) on June 2-4, 2016 at the University of Maryland!

Attached is our application that is due Monday, April 18th.  You will also need to have two recommendation letters emailed to us by this date as well.  This scholarship comes at almost a $500 value, so be sure to apply!  It is open to all WVU students in any major.

If you are selected to receive our scholarship, you must be able to provide your own transportation.  Our scholarship covers the registration fee which includes housing, programing (networking sessions, graduate school fair, career fair, workshops, and a night out in Washington DC), five meals throughout the course of the conference, and parking at UMD.  Also included in our scholarship is a free membership to WVU AAUW until graduation!

Below is some more information on the conference:

What is the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders?

NCCWSL is where college women make their future what they want.

As America’s premier conference for college women, NCCWSL provides a transformative experience for attendees and prepares them to be the next generation of leaders. Each attendee becomes a part of the conference’s 30-year legacy.

Join us in June 2016 as we host nearly 1,000 college women from every state and from around the world.

At this two and a half day conference, students

  • Choose from more than 50 workshops that prepare them for life after college
  • Meet inspiring role models including Women of Distinction awardees and speakers
  • Make connections for life
  • Discover their future from 100 graduate schools and employers
  • Gain the confidence and skills to return to their campuses and communities ready to take action

If you have any questions, please email us at wvuaauw@gmail.com!  I attended this conference in 2014, met NASA astronaut Pam Melroy, Scandal producer Judy Smith, and heard Chelsea Clinton speak among other big names!  This conference is the reason that WVU AAUW was founded, so I strongly encourage everyone to apply!
