Mountaineer Week Beard Shaving Competition

READY …. SET….SHAVE!

Hey guys, earning money can be as easy as not shaving.  Enter the Mountaineer Week Beard Shaving Competition today by signing up at the Mountainlair Information Area.  The shaving will take place on Wednesday, October 5th at noon in the Mountainlair Common’s Area.  The winners will receive $100 for first place; $75 for second place; and $50 for third place.  The prize money can be redeemed for merchandise at Sheetz, the event sponsor.  All three winners will win commemorative plaques and bragging rights.   The shaving will be hosted by Mountaineer Mascot, Troy Clemons, and the reigning Miss West Virginia, Morgan Breeden.  The judging for the competition will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd at noon on the Mountainlair Grand Staircase.  For more questions, please contact the Mountaineer Week Beard Shaving Co-Chairpersons Savannah Lusk at  smlusk@mix.wvu.edu or Aren Cox at aecox@mix.wvu.edu.   Please sign up today!

Voices Behind the Bars

All of the WVU Community is invited to a dramatic read "Voices Behind the Bars: 4 Stories from Bryan Stevenson's Just Mercy on October 10th from 7-8:30 pm at the College of Law.

The Honors College and Graduate Education will perform readings from Just Mercy. Also, a panel of WVU law professors and law graduates will discuss issues raised in Just Mercy, including exonerating those who are incarcerated who have valid claims of innocence, women's issues, mental healthcare in correctional facilities, juvenile issues, and more. WVU Neuroscience Club Meeting

Mountaineer Idol This Friday Night

Mountaineer Idol will continue with the third round of competition this Friday, September 30th in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.  The Top 9 Finalists will be singing COUNTRY songs trying to remain in the heated competition.  The finalists competing will be:  Scott Link,  Mikalaa Martin, Marisa Terwilliger, Sabrina Miley, Brooke Cottrill, Zakery Morris, Erika Baselice, Izzie Keim, and Bethanie Aylor.  The co-hosts for the event are Julie Merow and Mac McIntyre.  The competition on Friday will begin at 9:00 pm to give the parade-goers time to get back up to the Mountainlair for the show.   Please come out and support your fellow Mountaineers!

WVUp All Night Starting Sept 29th
