Get Involved With Mountaineer Week Events

Combine your desire or need for community service with WVU’s annual Mountaineer Week celebrating West Virginia culture and history. Volunteer opportunities are available Family Fun Day (Saturday, October 29th) and the Craft Fair (Thursday, October 27th or Sunday, October 30th)

Family Fun Day invites families and children (K-5th grade)  to enjoy  entertainment, hands-on crafts, and informational activities, games, mascots, and programs. The event is Saturday, October 29th from 12-5 pm at the Mountainlair but we will need help from 8:30 am-6:00 pm. You can wear comfortable clothes or a kid–friendly Halloween costume you can work in! The information is posted on iServe under WVU Mountainlair.

Mountaineer Week Craft Fair features over 60 artisans and is in need of people to help with setup and take down.  Erin Blake is the advisor. The times for help needed are Thursday, October 27th from 1 pm - 10 pm and Sunday, October 30th from 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  This would be general set-up and tear down, but not very heavy lifting as our facilities crew takes care of that.  Wear casual clothes and wear layers because volunteers will be inside and outside. The information is posted on iServe under WVU Mountainlair.

If you and your respective student organization are interested in assisting with either event, please contact Gwen Perrott (Gwen.Perrott@mail.wvu.edu) or Erin Blake (Erin.Blake@mail.wvu.edu).
