Induction Ceremony

The purpose of the Induction Ceremony is to formally welcome new Honors students to the Honors College. Students, parents and guests will be welcomed by the Dean of the Honors College and Honors College staff.  

The induction ceremony is a pinning ceremony, and new Honors students will all receive the official WVU Honors College pin to signify and solidify they are part of the Honors College community.  

This is a required event for new first-time freshmen Honors students. Up to two guests per student are welcome to attend the ceremony due to limited space.  Please note the full Honors early move-in schedule here.

Throughout Day - Early Move-In

All Honors College students will move in on  Friday, Aug. 10, 2018. Move-in times will be assigned closer to move-in, and will communicated to students by the Housing Office.

3-5:30 p.m. - Honors College Cookout

After moving in to their residence, students, parents and guests are invited to join Honors College staff Friday afternoon for the Honors College Cookout. Transportation for students will be provided.

Dress: Casual

6-7 p.m. - Honors Induction Ceremony

Following the cookout, students, parents and guests will be invited to join us for the Honors Induction Ceremony. 

This is a required event for new first-time freshmen Honors students. Up to two guests per student are welcome to attend the ceremony due to limited space. 

Where: The Event Center at Waterfront Place, 2 Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26501

Dress: Casual

Following the ceremony, students will return back to their dormitories to meet with their fellow residents.
