
Marla Gladstone
Marla Gladstone grew up in the Rocky Mountains in Southern Alberta, Canada. She also lived in Toronto for a number of years. Marla is a Coaching and Teaching Studies PhD student from the College of Applied Human Sciences. Her areas of interest are studying women in coaching, women coaching men and social justice in sport.
Marla is very passionate about diversity and inclusion and, prior to joining the Honors College, worked on a number of initiatives, including hosting anti-racism training opportunities for the WVU community. She worked with a group of friends to organize the Athlete Connection event to help student athletes of color to feel more welcome at WVU while getting better acquainted with the programs and services available on campus. Marla also collaborated with a number of departments to offer a number of events to reach intersectional populations.
Prior to returning to school, Marla coached men’s basketball at a high level and really enjoys helping athletes and coaches she works with to reach their highest potential.
