The Honors Retreat is a great way to start your time at WVU. You'll make new friends, meet your mentors and Honors College staff and participate in Adventure WV activities.
Retreat Information
Below is the general event schedule. Attendance is required for first-year Honors students.
- Date: Saturday, August 12, 2023
- Time: 1 - 5 p.m.
- Location: Evansdale Campus classrooms and Rec Center
- Activities: Welcome, meet your mentors, Adventure WV and Information Fair

Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place in the Student Recreation Center.
- 12:30 - 1 p.m.
- Check-In
- 1 - 1:45 p.m.
- Welcome from Honors staff
- Dismissal to rotating sessions
- 1:45 - 4:45 p.m.
- Rotating sessions
- Meet Your Mentor (Evansdale Campus classrooms)

- 1:45 - 5 p.m.
- Information Fair
- 4:45 - 5 p.m.
- Wrap-Up
After 5 p.m., you are free to participate in
Welcome Week activities.

- Transportation options:
- Downtown Campus
- Before the retreat, buses will loop between Short Term Lot 10 and the Rec Center beginning at 12:30 p.m. After the retreat, buses will run from 5 - 8 p.m.
- Residence Halls: Boreman, Dadisman, Honors, Seneca, Stalnaker, and Summit Halls
- Evansdale Campus
- Students can walk to the Rec Center
- Residence Halls: Bennett, Braxton, Brooke, and Lyon Towers; Lincoln and Oakland Halls
- Commuters
- Please park at the Coliseum and walk to the Rec Center.

mind if they get stained.
