Medallion Ceremony

West Virginia University has announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, May commencement will be moved online May 16, with diplomas mailed out shortly after. May 2020 graduates will also be given the opportunity to return to campus for a special commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.

The Honors College will be joining in on the celebration that weekend, holding our Honors Medallion Ceremony for May graduates on Friday, Dec. 18. RSVP information will be available closer to the date. We can't wait to celebrate Honors students' achievements as Honors Foundations, Dean's and Presidential Scholars with students and their loved ones.

Medallions will be available for the December ceremony. Students unable to return to campus will receive information on receiving their medallions closer to the December ceremony.

The Honors College will reach directly out to students with more information as it becomes available.

Graduating seniors in the Honors College are invited to attend the Honors College Medallion Ceremony. This ceremony recognizes students for the achievement of successfully completing the requirements of the Honors College.

At the ceremony, graduating seniors receive the Honors College medallion, symbolizing the extraordinary accomplishments they have made during their time at West Virginia University. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
