WVU Global Business Brigades is a new student organization on campus that is part of
the Global Brigades organization. The organization will hold an information session for their one-credit study abroad course on Monday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in 122 Ming Hsieh Hall.
WVU Global Business Brigades will be traveling to Panama from May 19-26, 2018. This opportunity to study abroad is available to all students. Students do not need to know Spanish or be a business major to participate. On Brigade, students will be working with underserved communities to strengthen their community-owned banks, consulting with small business owners to help them grow their businesses, and teaching financial literacy, all while shadowing a Deloitte consultant.
Global Brigades is an international service organization that works to empower
rural and underserved communities in Ghana, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama so
that they can meet their healthcare and economic goals. The organization does
this through the Holistic Model, focusing on each of the facets of
poverty and working with communities to come up with sustainable solutions
to their problems. Global Business Brigades operates as a student organization
in the fall and a one-credit hour class in the spring.
