Fall 2018 Course: POLS 491A Model United Natiions

WVU Model UN Team

Are you looking for a course that extends your learning beyond the classroom? Are you interested in Global Politics? Would you like to meet students from all over the world who share your passion? Then POLS 491A* (Model United Nations) is the course for you!

POLS 491A is a three-hour course that focuses on preparing for a National Model United Nations Conference. This is a unique opportunity to study the history, foreign policy, and related policy positions of our assigned country while gaining an understanding of the history, operations, and committee system of the United Nations.

Model United Nations is not a typical class. Here you have the opportunity to step into a diplomat's shoes and turn your passion into global action. During the conference you will have the opportunity to meet real diplomats, attend opening and closing sessions at the United Nations and listen to keynote speakers.

In the past years, WVU has represented countries such as France, Russia, China, United Kingdom, Cuba, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan and many more. For more information, contact Dr. Estep at clarissa.estep@mail.wvu.edu.
