Study Abroad: Searching for Vlad in Romania (Summer 2019)

During this 12-day study abroad experience, students will visit historic locations that were frequented by Vlad Tepes, the real-life inspiration for Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (1897).

By studying Vlad's life and the mythology surrounding him, students will develop a deeper understanding of modern Romanian and Transylvanian culture and the impacts of the region's tumultuous politics and history.

From Monday, May 15 until Sunday, May 26, students will gain first-hand experience with ancient Romanian and East European folk beliefs while exploring Romania. Students will receive one credit for FCLT 383: Faculty-Led Travel: Romania for participation and keeping daily journal entries.
