Cookies & Conversation: Alumni Edition with Dr. Jackie Bass

Headshot for Dr. Jackie Bass.

Join us for our next Cookies and Conversation, with special guest Dr. Jackie Bass, a WVU and Honors College graduate, on  Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 7-8:15 p.m on Zoom.

Dr. Bass is a diversity, inclusion, and belonging consultant for Capital One. Prior to that, she worked within their people analytics organization, supporting the retail bank and technology operations. Before Capital One, she consulted for the Omidyar Network (ON) and McKinsey & Company.

She was a post-doctoral fellow-in-residence at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University analyzing the intersection of power, race, and violence within the United States and earned a PhD in political science from UC-Berkeley, studying the relationship between changing religious doctrine and the African American church’s evolving relationship with its community.

After completing a dual degree in finance and Spanish from West Virginia University, she earned an MA in international studies and an MA in international economic management from the University of Birmingham, UK as a Marshall Scholar. Afterwards, Jackie studied peace and conflict resolution at La Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires as a part of the inaugural class of the Rotary World Peace Fellowship.

She continues her connection to higher education through an adjunct professor position with American University.
