Student Government Association elections are happening this week! Learn more about the tickets running for president and vice president below.
The Beyond Ticket: Sohan Daniel running for President and Olivia Dowler running for Vice President.

is a junior majoring in sport and exercise psychology with minors in leadership studies and human services from Chantilly, Virginia. He is running to be the next Student Body President. He currently serves as the chief of staff of External Affairs for the Student Government Association. During his time, he’s advocated for the increase of mental health resources, improvement of pedestrian safety and more. Sohan is an officer of the South Asian Association, chair of the Wellness & Mental Health Advisory Board, and is involved with New Student Orientation. Recently, Sohan was a star in Dancing with our Mountaineer Stars where he decided to pay tribute to his love for his culture and Star Wars by using lightsabers in his routine.
Olivia Dowler is a sophomore triple-majoring in history, Spanish, and philosophy from Weirton, West Virginia. She is running to be the next Student Body Vice President. Olivia currently serves as the president pro tempore of the Student Government Association, after being involved as an intern last year. This year, she founded and chairs the Sexual Assault Prevention Committee, and has been a member of the Inclusion Committee for two years. Outside of SGA, she serves as the president of Students for Reproductive Justice, treasurer of Active Minds, community engagement chair of Mountaineer Guides, and the social media chair of Women in Law. She is also a member of the Global Medical and Dental Brigades, Women in Government and Politics, WVU Believe Them, and the Honors LGBTQ+ Affinity Group. She works as a New Student Orientation leader and a tour guide for the University. A fun fact about Olivia is that she has five tattoos — including one of West Virginia!

is a junior from Lorton, Virginia double majoring in neuroscience and psychology. She is heavily involved in Greek Life on campus and is currently serving as the vice president of Philanthropy on Panhellenic as well as the vice president of Recruitment for the Professional Greek Council. Aside from that, she is a member of Delta Gamma, Beta Psi Omega, and the Order of Omega. Currently serving as a senator-at-large within the Student Government Association, she also chairs the COVID-19 Committee. In addition, she is an active member of the Neuroscience Club, Mountaineer Guides, Remote Area Medical, Women in Politics and Government, Women in Law, Minorities Association of Pre-Healthcare Students, LSAMP, and Mi Gente.
Pareera Uqaily is a junior from Morgantown, West Virginia double majoring in accounting and management information systems, and minoring business data analytics. An active member on campus, she is currently serving as the president of Delta Sigma Pi, fundraising chair for Women in Business, finance chair of the Management Information Systems Association, Neidermeyer Scholar for Accounting, and a member of WVU Global Business Brigades. Within Student Government Association, she currently represents the Chambers College as a college senator and heads the Mental Health Committee. She has also served as peer mentor and ambassador for the Honors College.

How to Vote
Students running for president, vice president, college senator, and at-large senator will be campaigning through Wednesday, March 9
. A debate will be held on Monday, March 7 at 6 p.m.
in the Vandalia Lounge in the Mountainlair and can also be joined via this Zoom
link. Voting will take place from Tuesday, March 8 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m.
All enrolled students can vote by logging onto Engage
. Results of the election will be announced at 7 p.m. in the Vandalia Lounge
