The Honors Overnight Experience is a fantastic way for curious students to learn about life at West Virginia University. Honors-eligible high school students are invited to spend the night in Honors Hall (Downtown Campus) or Lincoln Hall (Evansdale Campus) with a current Honors scholar host. The student and host participate in a variety of campus activities (depending on their interests), eat meals together, and attend University classes in the area of interest specified by the visitor.
Students who participate in the Honors College Overnight Experience will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in evening activities at WVU
- Stay overnight in Honors Hall
or Lincoln Hall with
an Honors host student
- Tour Honors Hall
or Lincoln Hall (with
your host student)
- Attend University classes in their area
- Eat in Summit Cafe or one of the
other WVU dining facilities
- Talk to current Honors students about
their experiences living in Honors Hall or Lincoln Hall, taking
Honors courses, and attending WVU
- Meet with an Honors advisor in their area
- Talk with the faculty and staff in the Honors College
There is no fee to participate in the Honors Overnight Experience. Space is limited and reservations are required. We host students Monday through Thursday evenings until the following afternoon depending upon the host student's class schedule and other scheduling-related issues. The Honors Overnight Experience is only offered when WVU Campus is open, and fall or spring semester classes are in session.
We ask for a two week window to plan your visit, so please contact us early if you are interested!
