Student Workers

Our student workers are an important part of the Honors College. All current Honors students, these students work events, at our Honors College front desk and answer the phones. They are happy to answer your questions about the Honors College, or direct you to who will best answer your questions.

Katey Banks

Major/Minor: Communication Sciences and Disorders major; Special Education and Childhood Development and Family Studies minors

Graduation Year:  2021

Hometown: Berkeley Springs, WV

Student Organization Involvement: Vice President of WVU’s chapter of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association

Interests and Hobbies:  I love to paint and go to the gym in my free time! I also love reading and traveling to new places.

Fun Fact:  I can play the piano!

Favorite Thing about WVU and the Honors College:  My favorite thing about WVU and the Honors College is that there are resources for students when they need help. There are plenty of resources for students who are interested in changing majors, finding friends to spend time with, or receiving help with schoolwork. The faculty and staff are more than willing to help any student who needs guidance and support.

Stephanie Golden

Hometown: Berkeley Springs, WV

Student Organization Involvement: Model United Nations, Vice President of Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society

Interests and Hobbies:  Running and fitness, writing a blog, travel and Model United Nations

Fun Fact:  I have four state championships in West Virginia cross country and track

Favorite Thing about WVU and the Honors College:  I love the sense of community. Through the Honors College and Honors Hall, I have met some of my best friends. I’ve also made great connections with the staff that will be helpful throughout my entire college career. It’s great to be surrounded by a group of like-minded students with similar goals to mine!

Hunter Moore

Major/Minor: Aerospace Engineering major, Physics minor

Hometown: West Milford, WV

Student Organization Involvement:  Engineers Without Borders (Local Project Team), WVU American Institute of Aero/Astronautics, WVU Student Government Association, Mountaineer Mentors,  Honors Student Association

Interests and Hobbies: Movies, soccer, space, traveling and science.

Fun Fact: I spent the summer working for NASA with the  CubeSat Program!

Favorite Thing about WVU and the Honors College: My favorite thing about WVU and the Honors College is definitely the people — no matter what or where, I can always find a great group of friends.

Javi Reyes

Interests and Hobbies: Basketball, golf, spending time with friends and traveling.

Fun Fact: I am bilingual

Favorite Thing about WVU and  the Honors College: WVU and the Honors College especially has allowed me to really focus on myself and what I want to do in life. I am always surrounded by like-minded individuals that push me to be better, as well as rely on me to push them. There are tons of opportunities here and I know that as soon as COVID-19 isn’t an obstacle there will be even more opportunities and amazing experiences to take advantage of. There is a big sense of family here at the Honors College and that is unbeatable.

Allie Satterfield

Major/Minor: Global Supply Chain Management, double minor in Spanish and Political Science

Graduation Year: 2022

Hometown: Morgantown, WV

Student Organization Involvement:  Chair and Licensee of TEDxWVU, Brother of Delta Sigma Pi - Nu Epsilon, member of Mortar Board, member of Supply Chain Management Association, student volunteer for Camp Kesem at West Virginia University.

Interests and Hobbies:  I love traveling, whether it is to the beach or a different country. I love being with my friends and living life with them. College has definitely shown me the sweetness of having friends who you can go through life with. 

Fun Fact:  I was awarded Homecoming Queen my senior year of high school.

Favorite Thing about WVU and  the Honors College: My favorite thing here at WVU (and especially within the Honors College) is that I am presented with endless opportunities. I have been able to learn more about what I am passionate about through the student organizations I have joined, the professors I have formed close relationships with, and the students here at WVU. I absolutely love the opportunities this university gives to students, such as studying abroad, performing research, and countless other options to explore their passions and future careers. I am extremely grateful to attend a college that can make a big place feel small and personal. A place that feels so much like home, with people who feel so much like family.
