“Explore the concept of the "common good" across history from ancient philosophy to contemporary political debates and social movements during HONR 204A.”

Andrea Soccorsi completed graduate studies in WVU’s Department of English with a concentration in 19th century literature and culture with a focus in the Victorian period. 

Currently, she is a member of the WVU Faculty Senate, which serves in an advisory capacity to both the university provost's and president's offices, and Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee, which reviews and evaluates new course and program proposals with the assistance of the provost's office. She is also a former chair of the WVU Sustainability Committee (2021-22 academic year), which serves as an advisory board to both The Faculty Senate and university administration and assists the WVU Office of Sustainability with its sustainability efforts. 

In addition to teaching sustainability inclusive courses, Professor Soccorsi has also taught courses in American pop culture, business and professional writing, composition and rhetoric, leadership studies, women and gender studies, and the short story and novel.

She also teaches in the Honors College as a faculty fellow for the 2026-2027 academic year.
