Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! The Honors Foundations program is designed for incoming students to complete during their freshmen and sophomore years. The Honors in Action program can be started during your sophomore year if you are a current Honors Foundation student. Other WVU students can apply for and begin the program during the second semester of their junior year.

Do you receive Honors designation for completing Honors in Action?

Yes! Successful completion of the program will earn a student recognition on their transcript and diploma as an "Honors in Action Scholar." Additionally, they will be rewarded with Honors in Action cords to wear with their gold gown at graduation.

Can someone who isn’t a Foundation student apply for Honors in Action? 

Yes! Other WVU students with a 3.4 or higher GPA can apply for Honors in Action during their junior year. Students who have a 3.0 - 3.39 can apply with a letter of recommendation from a staff or faculty member.
