and science communication, as well as problem-solving, presentation and collaboration
skills.
How to Earn the Badges
Below are examples of activities that could help you earn each Research level badge. This list is not all inclusive. You can also suggest your own experiential
learning activities!
White Level
- Complete the Research Apprenticeship Program
- Complete four credit hours of any 497 course
- Present at the Undergraduate Research Symposium
Blue Level
- Complete any of the following:
- Summer Undergraduate Research Experience
- Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program
- Health Science Center Summer Research Programs
- Present at a national research conference
Gold Level
- Publish in a peer reviewed journal
- Present at an international research conference with proceedings
